R-Type Fan Fiction

"Shane" has written a pretty lengthy fan fiction based on the R-Type Final universe. So far there are twelve chapters completed, and taking a quote from the author's website,

"The actual story in 'Typers' involves questions about the nature of humanity, how emotion (or lack of emotion), affection, love and hatred define a person. How does a person typify themselves? How do they typecast others and what is the ultimate drive of Homo Sapiens: are we geared more towards creation, or destruction? Love, or war? Affection, or antipathy?"

Sounds pretty interesting. I only had a chance to read the first two paragraphs, so I can't comment on the storyline just yet. But shmup fans who can read will most certainly want to check this out.
