E3 Shmup coverage! *what little there is of it.....

E3 is taking place in LA right now as you read this, and wading through all the information about the next gen consoles, it's hard to find any information about upcoming shmups.
But wait! Milestone has listed an upcoming shooter for Nintendo's Wii! If you track Milestone's progress with game creation (Chaos Field --> Radigly --> new project) they appear to be improving with each new game, in my humble opinion. More information on this project as it develops.

Seriously, Nintendo is just destroying Sony in so many ways. A quick glance at digg stories gives several examples.
If what you learned about Gradius 6 is true, then...really, WHY make the mistake of buying a PS3? That and the whole XCP CD-protection thing should just make Sony give up and commit a MySpace suicide.
I wouldn't be shocked if Konami did an "indefinite delay" to move Gradius or even the new Metal Gear Solid to the Wii. I've no proof that any moves could happen, but if so, I called it first, here. ;)
Does the announcement of Srar Fox DS not count as cool SHMUP news? I loved the SNES game and the N64 was ok too. Finally a true shooter sequel for the series is announced.
I mean, Star Fox is not Thunderforce 6 for sure. Actually it is no Radiant SilverGun either. ;0) But I am totally stoked none the less. Let's hope it is worth the wait.

Sure Starfox is good news, and a title that I'm certainly looking forward to, however this doesn't fall into the category of a true shmup.......the series features 3-D gameplay flying "into the screen", so therefore I would not make mention of it on the site. Most people require shmups to be in the true 2-D playing field.
