Bullet Candy is another Geometry Wars clone, which I'd like to comment on since we're on the subject......there has been lots of talk about Geometry Wars on the X-Box 360 lately, so not owning one myself, I went over to a friend's house and bugged him to download the trial version so I can see what all the talk is about. After playing it for about 15 minutes, I came to the conclusion that this is another over-hyped game.....GW is a flat out clone of Robotron, with the gameplay consisting of movement with one analog stick and 360 degree shooting with the other. What stands out in GW is the lighting effects, with lots of ripples and light trails around the main ship, and other eye candy like that. But I find the most important aspect, the gameplay, very lacking. I guess since this is currently the only shmup that X-Box Live has to offer, people beef it up a bit, but compared with most of the other indy shooters out there, I've seen much better. I'll admit it does make for mindless fun for a short while, but please don't think that GW is as good as arena shmups can get...

IMHO it has the Halo effect, where a particular group of players hasn't been exposed to a particular, when they do finally get a game from that genre it tends to been seen as new and exciting whereas ppl experienced in the genre are less impressed.
Halo and FPSs being the prime example, in my mind at least.

Hush! You're going to make all those kids cry who are trying so hard to justify spending $400 on a console with no games!
